On what seemed like a normal day on April 27th, I came across a small, scared chihuahua roaming the streets. She had no collar or microchip, but something told me she was just frightened—not aggressive. I brought her home for the night and made sure she felt comfortable in any way I could. She barked through the night though, longing to be home. 

The next day came and I took her to several vets to confirm she wasn’t chipped. I also posted flyers in the area she was found. Finally, I brought her to the Broward County Animal Shelter. To my surprise, someone had reported a missing chihuahua that very morning. When they arrived, the dog who once growled in fear instantly lit up with joy—this was definitely her family. I stayed to ensure they scheduled a microchip appointment and shared how important it is for every pet’s safety.

Moments like this remind us at One Love Foundation that compassion can bring the lost home—and that love often begins with one small act.

 On April 19, 2025, we teamed up with Pets Broward and the Broward County Animal Care for a day filled with wagging tails, warm hearts, and wonderful volunteers.  Our dedicated volunteers crafted Easter eggs filled with treats, delighting both cats and dogs at the shelter. From playful interactions to meaningful connections, the event was a testament to the power of community in making a difference for our furry friends.

  On March 16th, volunteers gathered at Hugh Taylor Birch State Park to assemble care packages filled with essential items for individuals experiencing homelessness. This initiative aimed to provide basic necessities and foster a sense of community among everyone that was involved. On 3/22 we headed to Fort Lauderdale in an area of need where many homeless people are found. We dispersed the care packages along with some water and snacks. We asked questions and found an important concern amongst the community is the need for a basic essential: water. Coming soon we will be following up on a creative way to try to address this need in the area. Stay tuned for more!

 On Valentine's Day, we came together to craft personalized cards for patients at HCA Kendall Hospital, aiming to brighten their day and let them know they're in our thoughts during their hospital stay. This effort was part of a broader initiative to spread kindness and foster a sense of community among those facing health challenges.
